About Us

Neighborhood Market

Established in 2017, the popular Artisan Market named Eleanora’s Market pops up every Saturday at Cavatore Italian Restaurant, 2120 Ella Blvd. in the Heights. Held rain or shine, the market showcases over 30 vendors selling the most high quality produce, cheeses, meats, baked goods, art, textiles, flowers and more selling their wares in the parking lot of our restaurant.

Come by every Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm to support local Texas purveyors.

Who We Are

My father, Giancarlo Cavatore, founded Cavatore Italian Restaurant in 1983, 38 years ago, and brought recipes from Bologna (Northern Italy) where his parents were from. He wanted to combine Italy and Texas and create something unique so he bought a barn in Bastrop, Texas and had it reconstructed in the lot where Cavatore still stands, on the corner of Ella Blvd and TC Jester.

It houses over 200 people and on any given day we’re having big events or guests that have been coming for 30 years! They come for the food, the ambience where Dad put up old Italian movie posters from his era, the 50s and 60s, and live piano music that we have every night. We are open Monday through Friday from 11:00 – 2:30pm for lunch and Monday through Saturday from 5:30- 10:00pm for dinner.
